Why we built this

Most Azores sites are listicles written from a desk somewhere else.

We've been doing this in the Azores since 2023 — the Azores is our next chapter. We built Beyond Madeira because friends of friends kept asking the same things: which tour is actually worth it, where do you really eat, is the road around the island safe to drive in winter. The Azores deserves the same honest answers.

The answers existed — but never on one site. Tripadvisor surfaces volume. The big OTAs surface margin. Operators surface their own whale-watching boats and jeeps. None of them surface someone who actually knows the islands.

We know these islands. You're visiting. That's the whole arrangement.

We don't run our own jeeps or boats. We pick the operators we'd send our own family with and put them under one roof — one team, one inbox, one standard. If it isn't good enough for our family, it isn't here.
